Disobedience Press

Disobedience Press is a small independent press that publishes essays about the capacity to be disobedient in the face of oppression. We hope to empower individuals with a range of models, tactics, and historical context for assessing and responding to threats to democratic principles. We aim to provide perspectives on resistance to injustice and tyranny by offering, in the words of historian Natalie Zemon Davis, “ample space for coping strategies and creative improvisation.”  Disobedience Press draws inspiration from the manifesto, the artist book, and the political pamphlet.
