UM Careers for Sex Offenders is a series of “career brochures” sent through email that satirically promotes the University of Michigan campus as a safe space for those who cause harm to women.
Our latest initiative, Careers for Lying Misogynists is an employment portal for candidates considering our campus as a future workplace. This July, 2026, the Board of Regents announced their continued support for the tenure of Regent Jordan Acker. While not a sex offender, Regent Acker displays a strong commitment to sexualizing women.
In April 2026, The Guardian reported that Acker shared private details of an female U-M student’s health and a photograph of her with members of his Slack group, as a means to make a sexualized joke mocking her. In that series of messages, “Acker [describes] being contacted by a parent of a U-M student. It describes to the group that the parent – referred to as a ‘joo’, apparently meaning ‘Jew’ – revealed that his daughter had had mono and ‘a series of UTIs’. The post was followed by a picture of the daughter and her friends.
‘Like maybe he doesn’t realize that his daughter fucks, apparently a lot,’ [Acker’s] message reads.”
Though six members of the group confirmed that Acker sent these messages, he denied ever being on Slack and said the messages appeared to have been doctored. An investigation by a law firm, hired by U-M confirmed that he made the obscene remarks and lied about them. There were no consequences for his violations of university standards and he remains a member of the Board of Regents.
